SCECGS purchased AS Urban wheelie bins and dome tops and
successfully deployed them throughout their junior school to help with rubbish control. The dome top is a more
hygienic option than the standard wheelie bin lid because students don’t have
to touch it with their hands. Wheelie bin dome tops also have the benefits of
keeping out birds and rain (the lid doesn’t get left open) and easy emptying
for the maintenance staff. With either red or yellow colour coding, both
rubbish and co-mingled recycling waste streams can be separated. The addition
of Area Safe waste stream signage also helps to make it very clear what goes in
the bin!
