This precinct is a shared location that includes other educational institutions, which may include university campuses and secondary schools, fostering a collaborative educational environment. The Nirimba campus offers a range of vocational training and education programs. These programs can cover a variety of fields such as business, finance, information technology, hospitality, fitness, health, construction, and many others, depending on the current offerings and focus of the institution.
The Requirement
To revitalise the outdoor communal spaces within the TAFE NSW Nirimba campus, offering students, staff, and campus visitors an appealing area to relax, socialise, and enjoy the outdoor environment all year round.
The Challenges
- Durability and Weather Resistance: The furniture must withstand various weather conditions, including sun, rain, and possibly harsh weather conditions throughout the year. Materials should be resistant to rust, fading, and degradation to ensure longevity and reduce maintenance needs.
- Comfort and Aesthetics: The furniture should not only be durable but also comfortable and visually appealing to create an inviting atmosphere. The design should complement the campus's existing architecture and landscaping, enhancing the overall aesthetic appeal of the outdoor spaces.
- Vandalism and Theft: The outdoor furniture must be secure against vandalism and theft, which might require selecting robust materials and designs that can be securely anchored to the ground.
- Capacity and Space Utilisation: The furniture arrangement should optimise the available space without overcrowding, allowing for free movement and emergency access if necessary.
The Solution
After evaluating the challenges and requirements, TAFE Nirimba selected the Aluminium Covered Picnic Setting and Aluminium Picnic Setting Traditional Style - 2m Long to revitalise their outdoor spaces.
